It's Nice to Meet You!

Hello!

I love working with people. I always have. The idea of sharing in the joy of a couple's wedding brings this love to another level! The opportunity to participate in such important memories of a family celebration is an honor I take very seriously...

I began working with couples long ago when I worked at Publix decorating cakes. I was still in college and lucky enough to be trained by the best of the best in the industry, when Publix was still a scratch, danish bakery. I learned so much about quality and professionalism from a talented bunch of people working in this environment. I will always be grateful. Marriage and family combined with career and as time went by, I realized I needed to create more time for my family. We moved from Central Florida to North Georgia in 2001 and as I took on the role of teacher, homeschooling our 11 year old daughter, I also began to consider the entrepreneur in me. I took an organic soap making hobby from the 90's and turned it into a global wholesale and retail business. This experience seasoned me in ways I never could have imagined! My soaps have traveled across the world and I have had the opportunity to speak to inspire others to do what they love! I was blessed to work with the state of Georgia and the dedicated folks who work tirelessly to build our economy. Building relationships with the people in White and surrounding counties allowed a respect for "blooming where your planted" and I realized something so very important; It takes a village to raise a business and a community.

When I decided to sell Moonshine Soap Company, I took my team attitude to BlackStock  Vineyards and Winery in Dahlonega, Georgia, where I worked as the Hospitality and Event Manager. People and events were a large part of my soap making days, so the transition was seamless. The resources I had gained in my decade plus of Moonshine Soap allowed me a plethora of opportunity to grow and develop in my position at the winery, booking weddings and working with brides. My love of working with these couples led me to the position of Event Manager at Honeybrook Catering in Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia, where I realized my true calling. Making menus and considering dietary needs became a platform for building relationships with real people beginning their lives together. These couples had concerns and budgets and questions. With so much time in planning and organizing details for the big day, they realized there was no actual person or facilitator to pull off the actual execution of those plans. Who would coordinate and orchestrate the vendors, the rehearsal...the ceremony...?

With the sweet blessing of my colleagues at Honeybrook Catering, I spread my wings to fly solo, becoming Miss Ellie's Events. Working with brides, grooms and families within an industry I adore... among a community of professionals I admire...well, I guess you could say I have found my niche. Perhaps my 25 years of marriage to my very best friend, Steve, may have helped polish me a bit, too ;-)
